Eden UCC Hosts Info Night about Local ScoutsChicago, 07/05/17 – Eden United Church of Christ, 5051 West Gunnison in Chicago, will host an informational session on the benefits of scouting programs on Wednesday, July 19 at 6:30pm. Neighbors interested in new activities for their sons — or for themselves and sons together — are especially invited to attend.“Drop by to meet leaders of Pack 3963 and Troop 963, and to see if the Boy Scouts of America can meet a need for your sons in first to eighth grades,” says Andy Brecklin. “Do you need something to draw your son away from the video games? Are you looking for something fun that helps prepare your son to make ethical and moral choices as a youth and adult, without another’s beliefs being forced on him? Do you want him to learn about and experience nature? To develop independence and confidence? To learn to lead and to be led? To tie a knot and apply basic first aid? Would you like an opportunity to have a leader’s role and thus a shared activity? The Boy Scouts of America may be just what you’re looking for!”Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP requested to jacki@edenuccchicago.org.Eden UCC is home to the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, European Fencing Club, SuperSoccer and more. Visit www.edenuccchicago.org to learn more.
